We are the Spanish Environmental Risks Pool
The SPANISH ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS POOL is an Economic Interest Partnership set up in 1994 to oversee a coinsurance agreement for jointly underwriting environmental risks.
As a Group, we strive to ensure you fully understand Environmental Risk Insurance and how it protects you against potential environmental damage arising from your business.
All partner entities participate in this agreement, with the main objectives being to:
Develop products to insure companies for whom environmental risks may arise.
Centralise the management, administration and control of such insurance in the Group formed for this purpose.
Pool capabilities to manage risks through joint participation in a coinsurance scheme.
Underwrite the reinsurance operations of the models developed by the Pool, in accordance with the approved technical conditions, reinsuring them to each partner company.

What does the Agreement cover?
The Agreement covers both insurance companies and reinsurers:
- Insurance companies may have a dual condition:
– As contributors of operations.
– As reinsurance acceptors for these operations. - Reinsurers may only act as participants in any reinsurance.
